My problem is NOT whether the custom shortcuts work just after setting
them or I need a log-out/log-in cycle.
The problem is, that a half dozen times (= boots, usually in the morning)
the ctrl-alt-g works, and then for one or two boots fails to load, and
then agin works for a few days (this com

I did a fresh reinstall of the whole 18.04 system from scratch, but the
