sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
nvidia driver upgrade from 387 to 390, The nvidia is working now

help to boot up for kernel 4.13 and 4.16, but does not solve nvidia

log are produced by using kernel 4.8 since 4.13 will not boot, will not
be able to do anything,(do you want a log from 4.13 with cuda?)
tried 4.16, will not boot, attached are installation log and boot log

I have a laptop call dc pro. it is made in china. processor is Intel(R)
Pentium(R) CPU G4560 @ 3.50GHz. with nvidia gtx 1050. The problems are:
1 the ubuntu 16.04.03 installation will hang somewhere. luckily 16.0
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.16 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
