I suspect this has been fixed for bash in Hardy.. sounds common to the things I
was experiencing.

I met this behavior both in emacs (terminal mode) and zsh.
Way to reproduce:
enter some phrase, e.g. expo, then pres
Cannot confirm this in Hardy.
Maybe this is related to your PS1 (I've had similar issues in bash).
Are you experiencing this in Gutsy? Can you try it in Hardy? Please
provide your PS1 setting, too.
