I am running Ubuntu MATE 19.04 on a Lenovo Thinkpad T470, without any
dedicated graphics of any kind. I have the same issue. Upon closing
the laptop, the screen turns off, but the machine is not suspended.
When I re-open the screen it is black, but still on. Moving the mouse,
using the keyboard
Maybe Launchpad is bugged? I don't see any attachment here...

Hi,
I unfortunately got rid of Ubuntu MATE as this issue made me not want to
use it.
I experience the same issue in plain unity Ubuntu. Shall I send logs
still?
