That's interesting, but in Ubuntu I can install the mythtv-frontend
package (and the mythtv-common package) without the backend running at
all, so I wonder how that is accomplished if Mythbuntu can't do the
same?

The reason installer crashed is because the master backend was not
found. The master must be online and reachable for the installer to
complete. This will probably be true with any of the advanced installs

Ubiquity still crashes even if the master backend server (mysql)
settings are properly entered. This holds true also for the "Secondary
Backend/Frontend". Only the "Primary Backend/Frontend" install works
correctly.

Additionally, when configuring the backend the 'Copy settings from Live
environment' was checked. I think that may have been the problem. I
will verify and close this bug if that's the case.
