Hm, I haven't been able to find some more information on this, but I've
forwarded the bug report to the Debian maintainer (see bug watch).

Hello,
this is a known issue and is caused by the Ubuntu people in their
distribution. They deleted jasy from the eric ThirParty packages. Please
let them know to fix their eric package or make jasy a package
dependency so it gets installed along with er

I can confirm I get a similar error message when attempting to open a
.js file in eric on Ubuntu Zesty.
