This indicates that the AIO linux io_setup failed with EPERM 1 Operation
not permitted error, which is a bit bizarre as the man page does not
list that error for that system call.

prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
