I assume, from your questions, that you're having trouble getting this
bug to reproduce!
Here's another video: https://youtu.be/o-Tu1bH_pdk
Procedure is:
1. Open the file with no other files open (bug happens whether you launch calc
and use file->open or double-click the file on the desktop)
2.
Michael T, what filters precisely in a keyboard click-for-click fashion?

Title:
LO Calc freeze while viewing spreadsheet
To manage notification
** Description changed:
I was viewing the xls file from
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1622386/+attachment/4739554/+files/Multimeters%20April%202016%20Comments%20Autosized.xls
in LibreOffice Calc when it froze and the window greyed out.
+
+ See https://youtu.be/
Aha, got it to reproduce with the screen capture running. Here's a
video: https://youtu.be/r2YtF2utXgA
Steps to reproduce, at least on my computer:
1. Open file
2. Select rows 2 to 356 and use Data -> Autofilter (not clearly shown in video,
as the menu opened out of view)
3. Apply some filters
4.
To be honest I assumed the command line bug reporter would capture
enough detail to identify the cause.
I've had it happen three or four times, but I can't get it to reproduce
while my screen recorder is running. I've read everything I need to from
that file, so I'm happy for you to close this bug
Attachment original reporter had the issue occur with.

** Description change
Michael T, to clarify:
1) Is this issue consistently reproducible?
2) What keyboard click-for-click steps are required to reproduce this?

No file in /var/crash
Unfortunately I'm not the copyright holder for the problem file, so I
probably shouldn't repost it. You know how open source projects can be
about copyright!

Michael T, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.
1) Please attach the example file to this report (not post URLs, etc.).
2) After the freeze is there a crash file in /var/crash?
