@iGadget: Ended up here for the exact same reason. Removing iptraf
completely from the repos would have made me search for it. I guess I
would have found iptraf-ng. We could also tag iptraf-ng as providing
iptraf.

@Rolf - thanks for mentioning iptraf-ng. It's working fine here on
Xenial 64 bit. IMHO in scenarios such as these where a 'mother' package
becomes obsolete and is replaced by an '-ng' version, the old package
should be shipping with a warning upon installation that it's deprecated
and should be rep
With the removal of iptraf from Debian unstable it's also been dropped
from Zesty. Closing all iptraf bugs in Ubuntu as wontfix. As such,
fixes in earlier releases are unlikely and it's best to move on to
iptraf-ng.

It would be great to see if iptraf-ng is affected by this problem as
well. If so, "also affects distribution/package" button to iptraf-ng to

Hi Nish,
When I first tried iptraf on a fresh xenial beta and it was already broken.
Later I installed the stable and iptraf still broken. Other apps are affected
by this like macchanger...
On 14.04 I clearly remember seeing eth0 eth1 names for example ifconfig, now
everywhere the new name.

Hello Richard,
Thank you for filing this bug report!
So, to be clear, your system does see other interfaces (enp4s0, enp5s0,
at least), but iptraf does not?
Was this an upgrade from 14.04 or a fresh install of 16.04?
Thanks,
Nish
