The issue even started happening on the mainline kernel? If so, maybe try the
latest mainline kernel:

Looks like it is not working today with any of the above kernels - I had
multiple screens working ok on Friday with the mainline kernel, but
today it is not working. I'm not sure what changed, I will attach the
dpkg log, but am going to have to go to windows as this is a work laptop
and i can't spe
