I'm going to close this bug then since in about 2 months from now Ubuntu Hardy
will be released.
Please create a new bug report then with the information from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKeyboardDetection attached if you still have
the problem with Hardy.

Unfortunately in the time that has passed since I filed the report, I have lost
access to the laptop on which this bug has occurred.
It was a Fujitsu Amilo laptop from my previous workplace, and I will not have
access to it in the next 4-5 months.
I will be happy to do as you suggested then.
