I can confirm that this is was a problem for my Gutsy Gibbon Fresh
installation.
Work around is to reinstall the dictionary.
Can be done by File >> Wizards >> Install new Dictionaries
Select your language and

Yeah, thanks - I didn't notice I forgot to add the package name until
after I hit the irrevocable send. But that wiki was helpful for future
reference.
I have seen it on my primary desktop machine as well as a laptop, so it
isn't a one off thing. There are a number of openoffice.org related
pack

Seconded. I believe it has something to do with language settings as I
also had the same problem back in edgy.
