Well thanks for the explanation. I thought the file is ok since Xpdf and Kpdf open it correctly as I said. Anyway I tried to debug evince but gdb suddenly returns to console saying something like "the program caught SIGTTUI" and repeats that anytime I type fg or cont. Can anybody explain to me what
