Fixed upstream in version 2.0 and Confirmed Fixed by Me!
The method used was allow uppercase.
I doubt that this fix will be introduced to dapper or edgy since it requires
introducing a brand new library to the system, (sdl pango).

When a user is expected to provide keyboard input, it is not typical
that only one case will be acceptable. This bug exposes an inconsistency
to the user interface that results in poor usability.
I am not advocating case insensitivity or otherwise. I'll leave those
technical details to the develop
i sent an email to upstream about it, they won't be fixing it for the
current release, but they will think about it for the next release.

Is this really a bug? Isn't it perhaps intentional that a user can only
enter lowercase letters?
