Thank you for the reply. It sounds like we are experiencing the same thing. But I think I solved the problem. I went into BIOS at startup tonight, and found that my onboard sound was set to Auto instead of Disabled. I disabled it years ago when I got the Audigy 2 sound card, so I assumed it was
