No Splash Screen and N
Can confirm this with a one day old hardy amd64 install on my Acer 5520
Laptop.
Here is my lspci, if it can help :
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lspci
00:00.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP67 Memory Controller (rev a2)
00:01.0 ISA bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP67 ISA Bridge (rev a2)
00:01.1 SMBus: nV
It looks like these are two different issues.
I can confirm both on my Samsung X20 XVM 1730 V laptop, though. I am
running a fresh install of gutsy.

I should add that the login sound works without a problem.
Could the splash screen issue be related to bug #179071?
