Nope. I'm using a plain Lenovo ThinkPad T500, but I had this problem too on my old ThinkCentre. As a matter of fact I'm baffled by the fact that I seem to be the only one in the world (still) experiencing this. I don't have odd settings, I haven't hacked Ubuntu or installed any weird applications.

This has been closed a long time I see. I found the bug on Google because I'm experiencing the exact same thing in Ubuntu Intrepid: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1058149 So either it's not fixed completely or it has been reintroduced. My version of gnome-screensaver is 2.24.0-0ubuntu2.

I finally decided to checkout the latest SVN version of gnome- screensaver and test it. It works well indeed, so I took the debian directory from the source package, copied it into the SVN snapshot, updated debian/changelog and built a package out of it. So far it works like a charm. -- Looses
