Pedro, I don't know how you can open a directory with an image viewer,
but what I experience is that when I double click the images above I
can't get them to open in eog.

Yes Ali, the issue is the following: If you copy that images in a
directory and open that directory with eog, let's say with "eog
directory/" you'll be able to see that images, but if you open it with
eog directory/image.jpg it doesn't open anything. That's the way you
reproduce the bug?

I also tried the Gutsy i386 liveCD and the problem is still there.

Confirmed on Ubuntu Gutsy amd64 using current eog (2.20.0-0ubuntu3).
Working correctly at least with Nautilus (preview) and gqview.
