Actually I'm not positive that kdebase is the right package, but I'll

I have some more details.
All removable media get recognized by the lower level system and their /dev/*
files get created.
What's actually not working is the interaction with KDE: I can always manually
mount the devices.
Under Feisty (with both KDE 3.5.6 and 3.5.8) I used to get a popup window

Well, it works on this fresh new installation from the CD of Gutsy.
What I was expecting is:
1. a /dev/sd?1 device to be created and
2. a KDE window to pop up to ask for possible actions (like mounting under
/media/...)

Thanks for the information, could you try to mount by hand the SD card, just to
identify where the problem is, it seems to be detected correctly by the kernel,
try using the following command:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo mount -t vfat /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt
