Forgive me butting in. I have lodged a similar bug but can't find it. I have the same problem except 1) laptop is Toshiba Presario with AMD Sempron CPU. 2) Linux Ubuntu 7.10 cohabits with WinXP in separate partition. Boot time between GRUB menu and Ubuntu logon is 2min 53sec. I have same setup
