Thank you for reporting this bug. I am marking it as a duplicate of bug
163417 because that bug describes the problem in detail. As far as I can
tell, this is an issue in Kdesudo, the kdesu replacement in Guts
Yes, the cause is the same. KDE SU is apparently interpreting & as the
"background process" symbol.

I found another error/bugdon't know it is related to this or not:
if directory name contains space and symbol "&" (for example: New &
Old), opening this directory by 'open as root' will pop up an error
message showing "command not found!"

I noticed this error too. It's a quoting issue. I figured out the
attached patch, which fixes it for me.
