Indeed. I managed to get some games to go to fullscreen, but then they
on their own switched back to windowed, while playing (no, I didnt
pressed alt-enter).
This is not Xgl only. I disabled Xgl (I think) with the disabled
.configs option, but still same thing (although other things did improve
in

Seems to be a known problem with Xgl:
