I had this issue too, and then it's OK. I have just installed OOo 2.3.1
from the official site under UBUNTU 7.10 - Gutsy Gibbon

I believe that this bug has been corrected in Ubuntu hardy
openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 so I am marking it as Fix Released.
If after upgrading you continue to have problems with this issue then
feel free to reopen this bug.

Hello,
Thank you zhangsong023 you were right. I have downloaded the new version on
OOo official web site (in French) but it was not so easy for a beginner like me
to install RPM.
Now the version i use is 2.3.1 and no hang up with function wizard.

This one is definetly a bug in *buntu's packages cause with OO.org from
OO.org (not from repository but ...deb.tar.gz) it works as it should!!
