When booted live-only, I wiped the casper-rw partitions's upper
directory except the home subdirectory, and things started to work again
in Lubuntu daily :-)
I don't know exactly what was causing the problem, but this action
solved it. (But we do not know if you have the same proble
I'm having the exact same issue with customizing Ubuntu's Live CD.
sudodus could you let us know what the "cruft" was that you removed to
get past this install error?

More information:
- I tried with the same GUID partition table with lubuntu-xenial-
desktop-i386_2015-11-24.iso, and it worked.
- I tried to install in English locale (instead of Swedish, which is my
native language), and it worked with the daily iso file.
