I've found this: http://de.pastebin.ca/534882, which suggests running:
DEBCONF_DEBUG=developer dpkg --configure tzdata
Please provide the output for this. Maybe it's the same problem (some
"non-existent" timezone).

When I ran suo apt-get install -f this is what i got(sorry its long):
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
feisty-wallpapers libstlport5.1 libgpod1 linux-hea
This looks like tzdata's postinst script causes the trouble.
Can you paste the output of "sudo apt-get install -f"?
And maybe also what "sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdata" does?
(Please execute both statements in a terminal)
