Ubuntu 16.04 Unity8 black screen

I have just tried the unity8 session. After entering the password, the
screen went black and stayed black - no mouse, nothing. I am attaching
the unity8 log.

Same here. No mouse pointer or anything, just a pure black screen the
moment I hit Enter after typing my password.

I have this problem right now.
System boots to the standard lightdm greeter, I choose Unity8, screens goes
black and stays that way.
