Further to my comments #23 above, I have now found that this card is
working well. I was initially fooled by the bitrate going to 1mb/s
whenever there is no data transfer. When data is moving it reaches
around 200mb/s (n type AP) and stays there. I have not seen this
behaviour with other wifi cards
brianM, it will help immensely if you filed a new report with the Ubuntu
repository kernel (not mainline/upstream) via a terminal:
ubuntu-bug linux

Installed this card on my laptop with current u15.10 and I get very poor
performance. Tried 15.04 with same result.
Dmesg says
iwlwifi :07:00.0: Direct firmware load for iwlwifi-7260-15.ucode failed
with error -2

I'm sorry but I replaced my wifi card with an old one I had to be able
to use the wifi. So I'm unable to further test this for the moment.
At first I was assuming that the problem was related to the software
since it started happening after I moved to Ubuntu 15.10, but know I'm
starting to think i

to work again?

computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (A12). If you update to
this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it
change anything?
