Can't upgrade to Wily Werewolf

the same error happened on two servers (stupid me)
problem began with mediawiki (i should have removed it before the second
attempt)
from the console:

Error in function:
SystemError: E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an e
I just had to remove the ubuntu-desktop package, and the upgrade is able
to proceed.
