Haven't seen this bug never before. Many times installer Ubuntu on my
PC.
But now in Ubuntu 9/04 beta it happened.
My monitor is ViewSonic VLCDS23896-3W. Got copyed all logs, so if you
need something, i'll post it here.

God this is rough. Momera I'm getting the same error you were on my

Say my computer name is "j-laptop"
Gateway is 192.168.1.1
The ip address I want for my laptop is
192.168.1.16
I would boot into recovery mode
type nano /etc/hosts
Replace the second entry which was 127.0.0.1 j-laptop with

Using either the 7.10 amd64 cd the way I experience the bug is it hangs on the
loading after it cannot find the wireless driver bcm43xx_microcode5.fw

I was able to reproduce the same X error when starting the 7.10 x86_64 Live CD
on an Acer Extensa 4420-5874 AMD X2 TK-55, ATI X1250
I was able to correct it just as above by installing fglrx in the live
environment.
