Yes, it seems if calendars are disabled then long press will create an
event but it will not be visible, but does exist:-

Non-existent untitled events appearing in indicator
How do you add indicator-datetime as an affected project correctly? The
project doesn't track bugs directly, but through ubuntu/+source
/indicator-datetime. How do you add this?
