I was unable to follow Leann's suggested method to test the fix because
my motherboard died and when I got my new motherboard I did a fresh
install of mythbuntu hardy 8.04 beta.
I can report that I don't have any trouble with firewire recording on my
new setup.
I suggest marking this as "Fixed" f

I just wanted to let you know that the Hardy Heron kernel was recently
uploaded for testing. It contains the patch referenced in this bug
report. We'd really appreciate it if you could try testing with this
newer kernel and verify if this issue is resolved. Unfortunately, the

I really think this should be fixed on Gutsy.
* This is a regression from edgy.
* This causes loss of data (mythtv fails to record)
* The fix effects only two lines of code.
* Andre Morten says "whoops, yes" when asked if the fix should be made.
This problem breaks mythtv on amd64.
