As there is no definitive indication as to how this was fixed I am going
to mark the bug as Invalid. However, if this crops up again please

I didn't touch the xorg.conf but since today problem disappeared. So
best is perhaps to close this bug since I can't reproduce the bad
behaviour. If problem reappears, I will reopen this bug

I believe you want to remove the following line:
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
from your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. After doing that you will need to
restart X by either rebooting your system or logging out of your session
and then pressing "Ctrl+Alt+Backspace". Please let us know h
