I have the same problem. I changed my system from gutsy-alternate-server. For me the /etc/default/locale exists with following content: LANG="de_DE.UTF-8" LANG="de_DE.UTF-8" LANGUAGE="de_DE:de:en_GB:en" I also tested the hardy package which also shows this error message. -- [gutsy] kdm looks f
