I can confirm this bug using a Gutsy ubuntustudio alternate CD on a Sony
VAIO SZ.
On this installer DVD image the bug shows after the tasksel as x
packages are installed (presumably because of xresprobe or dd

Today , I use Ubuntu 7.10 RC alternate CD install Asus W6A laptop again. After
install base system , and download language support . The screen isn't normal.
