This is still an issue in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala). I have marked this

I double the sort option, which is essencial.
A desktop search utility is essential for me, but sometimes retrieves a lot of
hits.
An embebed document preview for common file formats (ex: PDF,
openoffice, simple text, emails) would be great.
