No, it is not reliably repeatable. But it makes sense: I usually see an apport pop up on this when I am rebooting -- so, aiccu crashed while the system was shutting down, and I only get to see it when I login after the reboot. Happened some 3 times so far. Maybe something related to stop order (b

Did you stop AICCU? Or otherwise terminate it? As that code path would sigsegv when there is a race in the shutdown where the tun_reader thread is still going and g_aiccu is set to NULL as the process is shutting down. More details on the events surrounding would be useful. More importantly: is
