Works:
- Car bluetooth is detected
- The car bluetooth is shown (not just unknown...)
- If I press 'connect', I'm asked for the pincode
- If I enter the correct pincode, ubuntu says it
Still a problem and me and several others are ready to help de bug
this... Just tell us what you need. What logs to check, how to increase
the log level or load debug programs. Thanks

Just a little curious how this bug is now regarded as incomplete and no

I updated my Auquaris E.4.5 with OTA-10 today and tested with my Alpine
Car Audio.
After a little bit of a struggle (one crash of the bluetooth on the
phone and a phone reboot) it connects now and shows the phone symbols
(signal strength and battery) on the display of the car audio.

Same problem here. Aquaris E4.5 UE with OTA 9.1 won't connect to

1. Select Bluetooth device manager in car console
2. Car console states name of carkit, switches to discoverable mode
3. Turn on BT in phone and wait

I have the same problem in my Scania. Pairing "works". Phone sees the BT of a
radio correctly then I'm starting pairing, I give the code, radio gives me a
message that pairing was correct and my Aquaris 4.5 is on the list of known
trusted devices but never connects to the phone. After few second

A test with a latest rc-proposed image and silo 22 unfortunately fails.
Ubuntu Touch device (Aquaris E4.5) connects to car audio system and

My Meizu with OTA 6 seems to pair with my car (Renault, with built-in
TomTom, phone sees the car as My_Radiosat, car see the phone as "MX4

Just add-apt-repository doesn't work as the priority of a silo is below
the regular archive so those things aren't pulled in.
At best you use the citrain command line tool for this. However if
you're installing a silo you will put your device into unsupported state
and have to reflash to avoid any

is paired. After detection and introducing the pin that button never
gets blue, showing the pairing is not effectively done. Whenever

Thanks for the reply Simon. Is there anything I can do to help you find out
why my BQ is not connecting to my Mazda3? I doesn't give me any errors. It
just doesn't connect.
If there's anything I can do to give you any more info, I'll be happy to do
it.

@Mark: How should reverse engineering help here? Its simply an
interoperability issue and we're using completely different software
than Android does. However the interface to the BT chip is standardized
so no need to reverse anything here. We need to find out where e
The strange thing is that both the Samsung GS4 and the GS5 I owned before
always connected seamlessly. My BQ Aquaris is a different story, though. I
had once suggested that Canonical uses reverse engineering to solve this
issue, but I never received any feedback :(

Would be interesting to know how bluetooth differs between car
manufacturers. My BmW has no problem linking to the `phone once first
establisehd but it cannot download address data. Have contacted tech
dept at bq who claim to be working on the connection problem but have
yet to see any progress.

bug, that one is about car no pairing at all, not about dropping calls
