ok, squashfs and chroot method on the way... Trying with a vivid daily and
the kernel v3.18-rc7-vivid... and try to figure out how to patch the kernel

I have to make an modified iso with this kernel, or with a patch available
from link above. Not sure where to start, may i mount the iso, uncompress
kernel from mainline to replace the old one and then make a new iso? will
try to find out how to do that

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.18 kernel[0].
