Ah, just found that the problem is not really, gtk2-engines-qtcurve, but the
recommended kde-style-qtcurve.
If I install gtk2-engines-qtcurve with --no-install-recommends it works.
So, this issue can be close

both i386 and amd64 versions of gtk2-engines-qtcurve cannot be installed at the
same time.
