I was using Memorex CDs when posting this bug. I have switched to Sony
CD-R's and have not had a problem since. I guess you get what you pay
for. Try using a different brand of CD.

Maybe the corruption checking program is buggy? Maybe there's nothing
wrong with the CDs.. Do they actually work for you?

Found the same issue again. Downloaded the alternate-amd64.iso image from
different mirrors. After download checksum matches but during installation (of
the base system) after reaching 6% installer reports that the package is
corrupted.
I have burnt the cd using roxio cd creator in windows.
