No, it doesn't depend anymore on libgnome*. But it recommends gnome- control-center, which brings with it lots of gnome packages when you use aptitude (or if you install recommended packages by default). -- [gutsy] please remove xubuntu-system-tools from the archive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bug

gnome-system-tools sure seems to depend on libgnome*, it's getting installed along with nautilus and a great deal of gnome. Fresh installation of xubuntu from gutsy 9/04 livecd, no new packages installed. package list was updated at 2am CST. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/daily-live/20070904/g
