It is entirely possible that your Laptop LCD doesn't actually have 24bpp (8 bits per channel) colour. Many LCDs, although they claim to support 24bpp colour, actually use 6 bits per channel internally. Since your external LCD doesn't display these artifacts it suggests this may be the explainatio
