Actually I'm not so surprised. You can't expect any key combination to
work when defining a shortcut. It may for instance conflict with a
shortcut which is already 'taken' by the system for some other purpose.

When switching language, did you possibly use the shortcut for switching
to the *previous* source? In that case it's the expected result, and
that's the only way I can reproduce the behaviour you describe.
