Remember that silent mode here is used only by the 'alert' audio role. The volume slider should still show up when the active role is 'multimedia', 'alarm' or 'phone'. Ideally the silent mode would just mean a mute for the 'alert' role, but this need further changes in ubuntu-system-settings and a
