Same problem here as well with a 19" 1440x900 display from Hanns.G
connected per DVI with a NVIDIA Geforce 7900GS (even using the
opensource nv-driver).

I would like the TV LG 37LB2 added. (or preferably to work out of the
box)
In windows, no specified driver is used (Plug and Play) and it is
identified correctly by xrandr. Still it is impossible (without doing
"heavy" modifications) to get an output to this screen with the default
displayconfig-g

notice that the driver (?) can be downloaded at the vendor's website

These probably need added to the guidance backend...
By chance, can you guys attach the *.inf files from your Windows CDs
that came with the monitors? The necessary monitor data can be
extracted from those files and added to the database.

Importance:
I have the same problem on the Gutsy Tribe 5 Live CD. I have an Acer
AL1916W 1440x900 widescreen monitor, and the 1440x900 resolution is not
listed. In fact, only 4x3/5x4 resolutions seem to be in this list. I
have an ATI Radeon X1600 video card.
Ubuntu should be able to autodetect my monitor, sin
