Actually, problem has diminished: - Active fields can be found by hovering the mouse. - When creating new message, first "To:" field is selected by default. - If you forget to add "Subject:" line, you are reminded. Personally i got used to new interface and always remember to change To:, Subject:

It's not only the grey input fields, the drop-down menus don't look like anything anywhere else on the plattform, either. Also, there's an irritating drop shadow, "raising" the composition toolbar above the address fields and message underneath. Maybe this is a tribute to unity8/ubuntu touch-based
