I have the same problem in Asus A450LC with ubuntu 14.04 fresh installed.
I tried to install Windows, and it works just fine. Any idea?
I have been searching it for a long time.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
