I have the same hardware and works perfectly.
The original bug reporter uninstalled Ubuntu and
nobody ever reported it again.
If anybody else sees it again please reopen!

Hi,
on my Z60m the microphone works perfectly, the only problem
is that it is called "Capture".
I think it's not a bug since it has always worked in dapper, edgy, feisty and
gutsy.

Never mind. I switched to Sabayon Linux, and everything works,
including the microphone. It's a far better OS than Ubuntu for ThinkPad
users, I believe.
Still, if you folks want Ubuntu to be as user friendly as you say it is,
this bug should be fixed.

Is there any other information you require? I'd like to get this taken
care of soon; I know it's a pain in the tail, but...I'm thinking of
switching to PCLinuxOS because it seems not to have the same sound
problems as Ubuntu. Or will that be one of the improvements in the new
version?
