I reinstalled usplash and the it work great now.
The new pid list bypassing term/kill signals is brilliant.

For me it's fixed, so that I support the idea that this bug is a
duplicate of bug #131961. Please update to current busybox-initramfs
package and then reinstall usplash. If it's fixed for you, we can close
this bug as duplicate.

Worked around the problem by reverting from:
busybox-initramfs_1%3a1.1.3-5ubuntu3_i386.deb
to
busybox-initramfs_1%3a1.1.3-5ubuntu1_i386.deb.
This might be the same problem as bug #131961.
