As mentioned upstream a fix is unlikely, but I'll keep this open for
now.

I have the same problem with LCD panel Fujitsu Siemens S20-1W, which is capable
of 1680x1050.
All modes are correctly detected by nv driver. But panel size is wrong:
(--) NV(0): Panel size is 1024 x 768
Because of wrong panel size, desired resolution is rejected:
(II) NV(0): Not using default m
xresprobe doesn't list 1600x1200 for the NVIDIA card on VESA 3.0 but
binary driver works correctly.
